Classic Lego Space 6932

Lego Stardefender 6932

It’s taken me a while but I managed to find all the parts and rebuilt a classic lego space stardefender. And what a time we’ve had doing it.

This set was originally released in 1987 but it’s still a great set and Finn had a great time playing with it. He’s developing an interest in space so it was great to be able to “visit” the planets in our space ship and talk about which planet is the biggest, which has rings and which one is furthest from the sun. I’d like to think he had fun learning – although he wouldn’t recognise that he was learning.

Piloting the star defender

I’m not sure they’re the original mini figures but they were able to pilot the space ship with what I like to think of as blasters on either side of the cockpit. And it’s lucky they were there because some of the planets we visited had bad guys that needed blasting.

This set has a strong build that was easily able to withstand a lot of playing with no need for any repairs. That’s great for younger children and Finn definitely enjoyed it.

Classic Lego Space Side Module
Classic Lego Space Front Blasters

As you can see above, the star defender also has front blasters and two side modules. The side modules open from the front and the back which is perfect for putting passengers in, and carrying around moon rocks – which some people call marbles.

Personally, I loved the educational value of this set. I was able to guide our role play to teach Finn about our solar system and we both had fun doing it.

Repairing the blasters

Overall, I’m glad I still have this set and I can’t wait to see if I can build a moon base for our next set of missions. Stay tuned to find out what comes next…

Finn

Hi, I'm Finn and I love lego. I love it so much I created a website to tell the stories of my life in lego.
