Star Wars Republic Fighter Tank Review
Lego Star Wars set 75182, Republic Fighter Tank is featured in the Clone Wars tv series. It is used in the battle against the Droid army and this set aims to recreate that.
Mini-Figures
This set comes with Aayla Secura, the distinctive looking blue Jedi, a Clone Trooper Gunner, and two battle droids.
Aayla Secura is well printed and comes with a light sabre. She’s very distinctive and the hair piece does a great job replicating the character. I was impressed with this mini-figure.
The clone gunner is also well printed and looks great. I really like the clone mini-figures and this is no exception. He even comes with a blaster which is great for when he’s not driving the tank.
The Lego battle droids are good but feel a bit flimsy to me. The articulation of the body and head is really good as it enables you to pose them with their weapons. Otherwise they just fall over. The other plus side of being flimsy is they fall apart easily when they’re played with and lose the battle.
Overall I like the mini-figures but I’m not as keen on the droids.
Lego Star Wars Republic Tank
The build for the lego republic tank is fairly quick but the end result looks great.
In the series the tank hoovers and this gives the impression it is hooving. In fact, there are wheels on the bottom that work well on carpet, or any other flooring and make it easy to move around.
The tank itself looks great and has cannons on either side. There is a stud shooter that is fun to play with and a bay in the back to store ammunition.
The tank has an imposing looking view from the front. If I was a lego mini-figure it would look pretty hard to penetrate.
On top of the tank is an access hatch to the cockpit. There is plenty of space to fit the gunner in and it closes securely. Inside the cockpit are some controls and a seat.
Conclusion
Overall, this is a good set. It’s not too big but it’s fun to build and play with and the Aayla Secura mini-figure is great to have in the collection. I can also see this being great as I start to expand my star wars lego collection.
